Alaina Diehl

Alaina Diehl, a longtime Albuquerque resident, is an active performer and teacher in the community. She has been freelancing with local orchestras and ensembles since the fall of 2007. She is currently Piccolo/Flute 2 with Opera Southwest and frequently performs with the Santa Fe Symphony (Flute 2, Flute 3/Piccolo). She also performs with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra as a substitute musician on piccolo. Other performances include Church of Beethoven, the Rowan Symphony Orchestra, and the University of New Mexico Symphony Orchestra.
Alaina received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Oklahoma City University in May 2007 and spent the 2004-2005 academic year studying abroad at The Flute Studio of the internationally renowned flute pedagogue Trevor Wye in Kent, England. She graduated in December of 2008 with her Master of Music Degree in Flute Performance from the University of New Mexico. Her teachers include Laura Dwyer, Valerie Potter, and Peter Ader.
