Ms. Krein holds BM and MM degrees in clarinet performance from the University of New Mexico. As a freelance musician, she has performed with the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of Albuquerque, Opera Southwest, Santa Fe Symphony, Roswell Symphony and the San Juan Symphony. Ms. Krein has performed in a variety of venues including chamber-music settings, musical theatre, and various stage productions. In addition, Ms. Krein was founder and director of the BOSQUE CHAMBER MUSIC SOCIETY, a non-profit organization performing for nearly a decade on the Westside of Albuquerque.
Ms. Krein maintains a studio of private students who place well in NM Allstate bands and orchestras, the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program, District Honor Bands and Southwest Honor Bands. Ms. Krein’s students receive high marks at Solo and Ensemble Festivals and have been finalists and winners in prestigious venues such as the Santa Fe Pro Musica Young Artist Competition, the Oklahoma Clarinet Symposium Young Artist Competition (a national-level event) and have won admission to the internationally renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts. In Addition, Ms. Krein coaches clarinet sections at local high schools and mid-schools and has coached woodwinds in the Albuquerque Youth Symphony Program and the NMMEA Allstate Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Krein adjudicates at mid-school and high-school Solo and Ensemble Festivals and has judged final chair placement for the NM Allstate bands.
